Cilantro | Harvard Square Cambridge Boston, MA
We went to cilantro for a quick 2nd meal of the night after we left hungry after our omakase meal at Cafe Sushi next door. cilantro is a relatively new restaurant in harvard sq specializes in sichuan cuisine. A peek through there door revealed some Chinese people eating in the restaurant (I could tell they’re Chinese because they were speaking Manadrin). Porkbelly insisted we go there since he loves Sichuan food, especially 水煮鱼. I was hesitant since, the 水煮鱼 in Boston never lives up to the quality of the one we make at home.
we ordered:
milk tea – made of all powder, tasted very watery, yuck
sauteed frog in chili sauce – the frog had no flavor
sichuan style bubbling fish – fish barely had any flavor and super mushy
cilantro is def one of the worst chinese restaurants ive visited in boston. i can easily make way better food than this without trying. food all tasted horrible. i’d avoid this place at all cost. I think the only reason why people ate here was because it is in Harvard Square.
